Maverick Diagnostics’ Andy Brooke proud to join the Automotive 30% Club
Maverick Diagnostics is delighted to announce that its managing director, Andy Brooke, has become a member of the Automotive 30% Club.
The Automotive 30% Club is a voluntary network of executives from British-based automotive companies. Its ambition is to achieve a better gender balance within the automotive sector, by filling at least 30% of “key leadership positions” in member organisations with diverse women by 2030.
Andy was inspired by the Automotive 30% Club Founder and CEO of Gaia Innovation Ltd, Julia Muir, during a powerful and moving introduction to the organisation at the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation conference in December 2022. Addressing the congregation of automotive decision-makers, she was unequivocal about the importance of female representation in the workplace. Membership growth has accelerated, and, consequently, it has provoked proactive discussions among executives with the appetite for real change.
Our Efforts
At Maverick Diagnostics, Andy has spearheaded a team that is looking to improve the company’s recruitment process, such as changes to job advertisements that emphasise inclusivity. That process is being aided by the Automotive 30% Club.
Andy explained:
“It’s imperative we continue to show Maverick Diagnostics as a diverse and all-inclusive employer. We are confident in our track record and reputation; however, we’re not naïve to the fact we work in a male-dominated industry, nor do we rest on our laurels, and we’re confident Automotive 30% Club’s influence will grow the number of female applicants and, therefore, roles within the business.”
Maverick Diagnostics Marketing and Automotive Training Academy Manager, Laura Hall, is delighted with Andy’s pledge:
“Although only at the beginning of its journey to 30% leadership, Maverick Diagnostics already recognises hard work and talent irrespective of gender; however, as someone that is used to working in male-dominated industries, I am excited to see male leaders, like Andy, tackle gender balance proactively with support from the Automotive 30% Club.”
The Automotive 30% Club’s Founder, Julia Muir, had this to say:
“I’m very pleased that Andy Brooke has become the latest member of the Automotive 30% Club. Maverick Diagnostics supplies original diagnostic tools and technical support to automotive workshops and operates in the aftermarket part of the automotive industry where female representation has traditionally been low. It’s great to hear that Andy and his team including 30 by 30 leader Laura Hall are already implementing actions to Change the Game in their company, and I will look forward to working with them in the future.”
